Privacy notice

Draft. This notice describes how the site is built. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the chapter should have it checked against the data protection law that applies to it before launch.

What this site collects

Nothing, by default. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The site sets no cookies and does not use local storage.

Fonts are served from this site rather than a font service, so loading a page does not report your visit to a third party.

If you send a message

The contact form passes your name, email address, any institution you give, and your message to a form-handling service, which delivers them to the chapter by email. That information is used to reply to you and is kept no longer than the chapter needs it for that purpose. It is not added to a mailing list unless you ask.

If the form is not configured, the contact page offers a plain email link instead, and your message goes straight to the chapter’s mailbox.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps short-lived request logs for operating and securing the service. These may include your IP address and the page requested. The chapter does not use them to build a picture of individual visitors.

Links to other organisations

Pages here link to the global association and to other chapters. Those are separate organisations with their own privacy practices, and this notice does not cover them.

Membership

Membership is administered by International Association for Intelligence Education, not by this website. Information you give when joining is handled under the association’s own privacy policy.

Your rights, and how to ask

You can ask what the chapter holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to info@iafie.africa.
